Forum Structure
Board of Directors
The Forum is managed by a Board of Directors chaired by the Director General of the National Council for Economic and Social Development, with members representing the following entities:
- The Council of Ministers
- The Central Bank of Libya
- The Ministry of Economy and Trade
- The Ministry of Finance
- The Ministry of Planning
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
- The Ministry of Oil and Gas
- The Libyan Investment Authority
- The Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture
In addition, up to three local and international economic and financial experts may be appointed. The representatives are nominated by the relevant minister or authorized official, while the experts are appointed by the Chairman of the Forum’s Board of Directors.
The Board is responsible for outlining the Forum’s short- and long-term plans, policies, and objectives, identifying the annual discussion topics, target entities, and determining the locations, dates, and accompanying activities of the annual Forum.

The Libyan Economic Forum is an intellectual and economic platform that brings together experts, business leaders, specialists, and those interested in Libyan economic issues and international economic affairs. It serves as a space to discuss key issues that impact the Libyan economy across all sectors, aiming to enhance dialogue and partnership between the public and private sectors.
